According to the South African Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war may force South Africans to begin rationing their fuel.

The energy department stated that the increase in fuel prices is being felt across the world but that developing countries are being hit harder by the growing costs.

While briefing the Parliament about the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war they said that a further R2 rise in the current fuel price is possible.

It was also stated that if the sanctions on Russia and the war in Ukraine continue, South Africans could soon face petrol rationing.
