State of Disaster extension ‘could be cut short’ by MAJOR legal challenge
Despite low Covid figures being recorded since the start of the year, the State of Disaster has once again been suspended.
The Cabinet had sworn in February that the State of Disaster laws would expire in March but that promise was shattered when it was extended again on 15 March.
This has not gone down well with anyone, particularly Shadow Minister Dean Macpherson, who labeled the key-decision makers “scumbags”.
“After Cyril Ramaphosa’s government said that the State of Disaster would end on 15 March 2022, they have extended it again. Scumbags… We must drop regulations and end the theatre around COVID. Time to get back to normal life,” Dean Macpherson said in a statement.
The DearSA lobby group has launched a legal challenge against the continuation of the State of Disaster and they are now preparing to take the government to court.
