Zoe Sozo Bethel (27), who was crowned miss Alabama for America Strong 2021, died after reportedly falling out of a third floor window in a building.
Bethel was taken to hospital on the eve of 11 February in a critical condition but succumbed to her injuries later.
Before Bethel passed away, her family had shared that the model “sustained severe damage to her brain/brainstem”.

“This was a tragic accident, and no foul play is suspected,” police said in a statement, after authorities had responded to a “possible suicide attempt”.
However, Bethel’s family statement said, ”As is common with any death that is not due to natural causes, law enforcement will conduct an investigation into the cause of death. Thus, the investigation into the cause of Zoe’s death is part of the normal protocol for law enforcement, and is still open and pending.

”The initial police report is simply preliminary and is not conclusive, and is further absent specific facts from eyewitness testimony that would alter the ‘incident type’ status listed on the preliminary police report.”
Following Bethel’s death, her family said they did all they could to save her life.
