The famous South African rapper and award winning artist Riky Rick has died after he reportedly committed suicide in his home in Johannesburg on Wednesday morning, 23 February.
Riky Rick’s family confirmed his passing to News24.

“The family is still meeting, and we will release a statement in due course. We ask for your understanding,” family spokesperson Sheikani Makhado told the publication.
According to the Sunday World‘s sources, Riky Rick hung himself with a rope and was found by his friends around 8:30 in the morning. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but passed way before reaching the hospital.
“Unfortunately he died when they were en route to the hospital,” said the source as per Sunday World.

It’s alleged this comes after a struggle with severe depression.
The 34-year-old, whose real name is Rikhado Muziwenkosi Makhado, posted his last tweet speaking in riddles early in the morning.
“I’ll return a strong man. This land is still my home,” Riky Rick tweeted.
