Al Ahly won the FIFA Club World Cup bronze medal for the second time under the South African coach Pitso Mosimane after whipping Al Hilal 4-0 this past weekend.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach made history by becoming the first African coach to win back-to-back third place in the Club World Cup.

The Chelsea and Ivory Coast ex-forward has reserved special praise for the Soweto-born coach.

“The first time we have an African team in this competition like Al Ahly and I think they deserve the third place, they had a good game,” he told FilGoal.

“And good for the manager as well, because he’s been winning trophies as well.

“He’s been winning trophy after trophy and to do that in a different country is not always easy.

“He did it and he proved that he’s one of the best coaches on the continent.”
