Prince Harry and Prince Andrew denied Queen’s Jubilee Medal

Prince Harry and Prince Andrew will not be awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal like other members of the armed forces.

Seeing as both Dukes have lost their titles, they are no longer eligible to receive the Jubilee Medal – which will be awarded on 6 February.

All serving members of the armed forces, as well as blue light workers and prison officers, will receive a Jubilee Medal. Members from the royal family who hold honorary positions in the military are also eligible.

Veterans won’t receive the medal unless they’re living recipients of the George Cross or Victoria Cross.

While Harry and Andrew both served in the military, the stripping of their titles and military honours means that they will be treated as veterans – meaning they don’t apply for the medal.
