The body of a 13-day-old baby boy was found along the N12 road on the way to Stilfontein outside Klerksdorp. The baby was found on January 1, 2022 by a motorist who informed the police.
Police spokesperson, lt. col. Amanda Funani, says the baby whose hands and legs were tied with a plastic bag was found with gray trousers with a white vest and covered with a cloth.
The baby had bruises on his body
Preliminary investigation revealed that the baby had bruises on his body.
No one has yet been arrested in connection with the incident and investigation into the case is still ongoing.
Police are requesting anyone with information that could help with the investigation, to Stilfontein detective commander, lt. Col. Johannes Mokgosi on 082 416 1303.
