A media statement released on 28 December 2021 states that Eskom is having issues supplying electricity to the Northern Cape.
Eskom says he is aware of the inconvenience caused by numerous power failures in the Northern Cape. “This is a result of the recent rainy and stormy weather which has led to extensive damage to Eskom’s infrastructure.”
Electricity supply to Colesberg, Douglas, Jan Kempdorp, Pampierstad and Upington is cut off. Eskom says he is attending to this matter and will update customers as work progresses.
Eskom urges customers to please be patient while supply is being restored and can be switched on without notice.
