President Cyril Ramaphosa has landed himself in hot water with the leaked audio, increasing the #CR17BankStatements hashtag on Twitter immensely.
In the leaked audio, Ramaphosa can be heard acknowledging that in a number of cases, state money has been used in some campaigns.
The audio has reportedly been leaked from an ANC NEC meeting, and it has ever since been shared on social media and gone viral, leaving Ramaphosa detractors gaining the upper hand in a campaign to discredit him within the party.
‘I am willing to fall on the sword” for this rather than reveal names said Ramaphosa.
