Len Cloete, a father and husband from Pretoria, is currently fighting for his life after he was shot in the head by a policeman.
The incident took place at the Misty Hills Lodge in Muldersdrift in Gauteng. In the video of the incident, which is in the possession of FiND iT, three police members are in an argument with Cloete.
A woman then says in the background that they want to sleep. Cloete can then be heard asking: “Where’s my gun?”
A policewoman then says “no you are playing dangerous.” Cloete then asks: “who is playing dangerous? You F * & * ^ %% coward. Come on! You F & * ^ ()% * asshole.”
He then drops his magazine to the ground. “The problem is, I know how to use this f * & ^ () thing.”
A woman then says in the background: “you are supposed to feel safe by the police, we are not supposed to feel endangered. Guys, you are supposed to protect us. ”
Cloete then asks the police to leave the property.
A man records the entire incident. Cloete then appears to grab a firearm from one of the policemen after they refuse to leave the property, while shouting: “shoot me, shoot me!”
That’s when another policeman aims at him and shoots him.
A woman then shouts: “Len is dead!”
Mike Bolhuis, private investigator at Specialized Security Services, says it is a pity that the video was leaked. Bolhuis told FiND iT Cloete and his wife, Chantal, arrived at the guesthouse on Friday. An argument arose because the rooms were not ready yet and the couple went to eat at a restaurant. The couple, as well as the guesthouse management, called the police later that evening, after which the quarrel broke out.
According to another source, the guesthouse management did not want Cloete to enter the guesthouse with a weapon.
Bolhuis explained to FiND iT that protocol is to be followed when the police use their weapons. This protocol includes warnings, then brings out a firearm, then directs the weapon and then fires a warning shot at the ground. Then in the foot.
Only then, as a last resort in imminent danger, can the police shoot someone. “Preferably not dead.”
Bolhuis says Cloete is doing better. “He is still in intensive care. There is a lot of swelling. He is under strict medical observation. ” Cloete’s wife asked for prayers for her husband on Facebook.
“My husband fighting for his life. My heart are completely broken. Taking day by day. We miss you! Your kids are waiting for you. Fight my husband, I cannot lose you, not like this. Please pray for a miracle. ”
Bolhuis’ team will now investigate whether all the police’s protocol has been followed. The names of the police officers are known to FiND iT. FiND iT has made an inquiry to the police, but has not yet received any feedback.
