One person died and another was injured in a vehicle collision in Durban North.
Shawn Herbst, spokesperson for Netcare 911, says Netcare 911 responded to a collision at16:45 on Tuesday on the corners of North Coast Road and Moreland Drive in Redhill Durban.
“Reports indicate that the driver of a bakkie lost control, slamming into a SUV then into a pedestrian. The bakkie then came to rest on top of a wall at a motor dealership.”
On scene was the Durban Metropolitan Police, Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, SAPS and Emer-G-Med as well as other private EMS services.
“An adult female driver from the SUV had sustained moderate injuries and was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
“Medics assessed the scene and found that the pedestrian who had sustained fatal injuries was trapped between the wall and the bottom of the bakkie.
“The Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services had to use hydraulic tools to lift the vehicle to free the deceased.”
