KIMBERLEY.- The department of justice and constitutional development endured ransomware attacks, which has recently resulted in the department’s information systems being compromised and breached.
On top of this, sources told FiND iT that the recording machine in L-court in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court has not worked for months.
“Cases has had to be postponed or moved to different courts. This wastes the court’s time and it also means that court cases cannot continue as they should. A court should be a system that works and not be hampered by faulty equipment.”
With FiND iT’s visit to the court, FiND iT was told all machines are working.
Official queries of FiND iT went unanswered at the time of publication.
Meanwhile, the department of justice and constitutional development has released a statement following the ransomware attacks, stating that they were working closely with state agencies to investigate and resolve the issue.
