Survivors of the luxury bus crash on Monday claimed that the bus was not fit to be on the road.
The confirmed death toll of the crash is 30 people, with two babies being among those who died. Twenty –four others were injured during the crash on the N2 near Kei Cuttings on Monday.
It appears that the bus driver had lost control of the bus causing it to crash. The bus company, DMJ Transport, denies allegations that the bus was unroadworthy.
“It is very hard to say what has happened. Because the driver has passed away and we are not sure exactly what happened. The second driver that was there was not feeling very well.” said Thembisa Mkhohlwa, a spokesperson for DMJ.
The Eastern Cape government is offering families of the victims counseling during their time of grief.
