Absolutely heartbreaking scenes reached the world from Afghanistan on Monday with the US forces evacuating citizens and others trying to escape the war-torn country’s lost capital by any means necessary. Sadly this has led to deadly consequences.
It was confirmed by the Afghan news agency, Asvaka, that “at least three people” fell from the landing gear of a military plane, that fled Kabul to evacuate hundreds of residents to the state of Qatar. The US is scrambling to evacuate their personnel after the Taliban takeover.
This is a horrendous day for all of humanity with the grim reality making this obvious as images from the scene at Kabul airport emerges, where thousands of people descended onto runways and attempted to board the planes parked on the tarmac.
Some have remained grounded but others were able to escape successfully. Sadly the sheer desperation of the fearful citizens has cost some of them their lives. Footage emerged of some Afghan citizens plunging to their deaths after grabbing onto the body of the aforementioned military plane.
