According to end of month data from the Central Energy Fund, a sizeable increase in petrol and diesel prices can be expected in August.
The group’s data shows an under-recovery of between 76 and 80 cents per litre for petrol and 47 cents per litre for diesel.
- Petrol 95: increase of 80 cents per litre;
- Petrol 93: increase of 76 cents per litre;
- Diesel 0.05%: increase of 47 cents per litre;
- Diesel 0.005%: increase of 46 cents per litre;
- Illuminating Paraffin: increase of 47 cents per litre.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy usually officially calculates and adjusts the fuel prices on the first Wednesday of every month.
August fuel price changes will come into effect on Wednesday (4 August) with the department gazetting the official changes sometime before then.
