An Italian bus driver has been called a hero for getting 25 schoolchildren to safety after noticing that there was a problem with his vehicle before it burst into flames.
The bus, which was on its way to a summer camp with children between the ages of 14 and 16 on board, caught fire in a tunnel about 80km north of Milan.
The bus driver had realized something was wrong shortly after entering the tower, pulled over and told the children to get off. Then the bus burst into flames.
Firefighters arrived quickly on scene and extinguished the flames.
Seven children were taken to hospital as a precaution for smoke inhalation but no one was hurt.
A firefighter said that the fire might have been caused by a burst tyre.
