Durban.- A restaurateur and tech lover developed a new delivery app, DeliverNow, to help save failing restaurants survive the difficult Lockdown Level 4 closures and beyond.
Saul Baskin, owner of Cafe Japan and founder of Appwise, has just created a new application called DeliverNow, which helps restaurateurs and owners, deli’s, sushi bars and coffee shops by drastically reducing the almost 30% delivery fees that are currently being charged by companies like Uber Eats.
Even before lockdown, restaurants were struggling with the high fees charged by the middle men in order to get their product to the customer.
“We’re empowering the small guys and independent eateries to have a delivery and collection app for their own use exactly the same as large franchises at a fraction of the cost, from R7.50 per delivery,” Baskin said.
DeliverNow was developed specifically to cut out the 30% third-party commissions which will help businesses to continue trading, simplify the delivery process and give them back 100% of their takeout sale.
“We’re helping these businesses create employment for their waiters, personalise deliveries, and make ends meet during this pandemic. Everybody benefits. It puts power back in the hands of restaurants, their staff, and customers – instead of 3rd party delivery companies that simply don’t care,” Baskin said.
