Pretty waitress Kim Medlin obeyed the law – and ended up dead. She called police on her way home late one night from work after being chase by another car.
The police chief put out a broadcast to all officers in Monroe, North Carolina to keep an eye out for Kim’s red Jeep to make sure she was OK.
But that call left Kim Medlin dead after local Officer Josh Griffin became obssessed with meeting her. Just two weeks later, he pulled her over around 2am on a bogus traffic violation – but when she rebuffed his sexual advances, he handcuffed her and drove off with her in his patrol car.
Kim managed to jump out of the moving cop car but Griffin chased her down, stomped on her back, breaking her neck and then strangling her with his police flashlight.
But it was the footprint he left on the back of her sweatshirt that tied him to the crime. Griffin was charged with Kim’s abduction and murder.
He was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
