Ahead of the UEFA’S 2020 Euros a Scottish artist has created a unique installation where he uses the colours from countries’ national kits and pours paint over footballs to create a stunning marble effect.
Titled ‘The Fusion Series – Footballs’, Craig Black was inspired by Scotland qualifying for their first major football tournament in over 20 years and also the excitement around the championship.
Best known for his bespoke and technically innovative artworks, Black created an artistic representation of the brand colours of various countries’ football kits. He used his eye-catching acrylic fusion paint-pouring technique over 9 footballs.
From Spain’s fiery red and yellow kit to Italy’s savoy blue, each ball represents a country competing in the Euro 2020 tournament.
The artworks have been captured in still images as well as video in order to showcase the mesmerizing process the artist uses to create each unique installation.
Black commented: “The excitement of Scotland participating at the Euros has gripped the nation.’ “I have absolutely loved creating these art installations as I was able to combine my two passions of football and art.”
