Simône Kriel studied chiropractic at the university of Johannesburg and qualified in 2015. Both she and her husband got offered chiropractic jobs in the Netherlands.
Simône used to live in Johannesburg, but she was born and raised in Bloemfontein. The 31-year-old says she was always interested in healthcare and chose to study chiropractic. She did her master’s degree in MTech Chiropractic which is a 6 year course.
“The best part of chiropractic is being able to help people by relieving pain in a holistic manner. It’s also a growing profession in South Africa so educating patients on what chiropractic is, is a big part of practising in SA.” She has a soft spot for Bloemfontein and says she will miss her family very much.
“Bloemfontein is great for a family in terms of growing up, because it’s reasonably safe and of course I’ll miss my family.” In her spare time she likes to read and exercise. “My free time has changed drastically since having my son, but I enjoy reading and exercising.”
Simône also has a twin brother, Gustav Pieterse. He is the hotel manager of the Saxon Hotel, Villa’s and Spa in Johannesburg. Simône, her husband and son were recently in Bloemfontein to say their goodbyes to her family, and they are currently at her in-laws. They fly to their new home on the 26th of April.
