In a suspected ritualistic killing, a bald man in Mozambique was decapitated by perpetrators who were intending to sell his head to a client in Mali.

It is said that the prospective buyer vanished before the grim transaction could be completed. According to reports, after the client fled, they abandoned the head in the central town of Muandiwa and now local police are investigating the case.

Although there is no indication where the belief came from that the heads of bald men contains gold, it is known in several areas in Mozambique.

In the central district of Milange, police have issued a warning that these killings were on the rise after at least five men were killed for their body parts.

Police suspect that the belief was created by local witchdoctors as a way to get their clients to bring human heads to them for their own motives.
