Eskom has announced that stage 2 power cuts will continue from Monday, 05:00, until Saturday, 05:00.
Eskom added that higher stages of power cuts may also be implemented if it continues to face technical problems and if the power grid remains unstable.
Eskom has said that technical issues have forced it to use extensive emergency generating reserves over the weekend and that a major event in Zambia also affected the Southern African Power Pool.
