A school has banned parents from wearing pajamas when dropping off their children. The headteacher of Ayresome Primary School in Middlesbrough told parents that it is “inappropriate” to wear “bedclothes” like slippers and dressing gowns at the school gate.
In a Facebook post that has since gonne viral, the teacher urged parents and guardians to “wear appropriate clothing when accompanying their children to and from school”.
She wrote: “As a school, we encourage our children to be appropriately dressed at all times and we feel it is important for parents to do likewise.”
Some parents agreed with this “polite notice” stating that they would take note of it while some others were not as supportive of the no pajamas ruling.
However the school bosses have offered their full support of the teacher. The CEO for the school’s Ad Astra Academy Trust said: “A number of parents and teachers have also expressed concern about some parents wearing nightwear at the school and I wholeheartedly support the stance taken by the headteacher.”
