Bring a rustic vibe to your bathroom with this timber toothbrush holder.

For your toothbrush holder you will need:
Leather remnant;
ruler;
pencil;
sharp scissors;
block of wood about 20cm x 8cm (ours was 2cm thick);
small glass milk bottle;
hammer;
4 x upholstery tacks;
screw;
handheld drill & drill bit;
hot-glue gun;
pliers
Instructions:
STEP ONE To make the bottle strap, place your leather on a flat surface, rough side up. Using pencil and ruler, mark a strip 1.5cm in width by about 23cm length. Carefully cut out the strip and trim ends to achieve a straight finish.
STEP TWO Holding your block of wood in the portrait position, measure 3cm from the bottom, and mark that point on both sides (the depth) of the wood. Affix one end of the leather strip neatly to the 3cm mark by hammering it in place with an upholstery tack.
STEP THREE Position bottle on the front of the wood block and wrap the leather strip over to the other side so you know how far the strip needs to reach to hold the bottle in place on the wood snugly. Remove bottle and hammer in a second upholstery tack to secure the other end of the strip to the wood. Trim excess leather.
STEP FOUR For the hanging strap, measure and cut another strip of leather 1.5cm wide by about 10cm long. At one end of the strip, cut a triangle shape from the edge to create pointed corners.
STEP FIVE Secure triangle end of strip to the front side of the top of the wood using an upholstery nail. Use a screw to create a hole about 2cm from the other end of the strip (you may need to wriggle screw to get it through).
STEP SIX Mark point on the wall where you want your stand to hang. Use a drill to drive screws into the wall to secure the strap in place. Using the hot glue gun place a blob of glue to the front of the screw, then attach the head of an upholstery nail (remove sharp tack with pliers) to conceal the screw. Place your bottle through the loop to finish.
