This Chinese citizen became an online sensation for having his COVID-19 jab on a tattoo of a smiling child that caught the eye of netizens. The video was filmed at a vaccination centre in the city of Handan in the north-eastern Chinese province of Hebei at the end of May.
The nurse who administered the man’s jab said: “It was so cute, I couldn’t bear to do it!” However, the show had to go on and the nurse rubbed alcohol on the man’s arm and thrust the needle into the forehead area of the tattoo of a smiling child. The vaccinated man told local media: “Afterwards, the child had an extra beauty spot, but it wasn’t particularly painful.
Besides, the child is still smiling so it had to be okay!” In the footage, widely shared on the Chinese social network Douyin, the nurse is seen cleaning an area on the man’s left arm before preparing the syringe and jabbing it into the inked child’s forehead.
