SOUTH AFRICA. – A digital news agency is looking for an enthusiastic English content creator to grow and perform in the digital journalism sphere in South Africa. This post will be a work-from-home post and you will need to be disciplined and work fast.
Content creator wanted
You will be required to drive out to certain stories, cover stories live, have contacts in the community and the broader South Africa, to give you access to information and what happens in people’s lives. You must get excited about what is happening in the news and want to be a part of it. This is a full-time job and all content submissions will be online. You will need your own laptop, internet, transport for going out to stories, cell phone for taking videos and pictures.
Qualifications/requirements
Must be passionate about hard news and what people like to read;
Must have exceptional spelling and grammar;
Digital media experience – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, WordPress;
Must work fast and accurate – must know the importance of checking your sources.
Key performance areas:
Content creation for websites, pulling through to social media and digital news platforms;
Developing and creating story ideas;
Must know what is happening on all fronts of media and news;
Must be able to do live new reporting;
Basic photography – even with own phone – and video editing skills;
Must be able to easily produce 10 short content pieces a day;
Must meet target audiences.
