Keimoes-moordenaar kry 28 jaar tronkstraf

KEIMOES. – Rodian Williams is tot 28 jaar tronkstraf vir die brutale en grusame moord op Shakira Jonkers (19) gevonnis. Die slagoffer se onthoofde liggaam is in ’n puttoilet naby Williams se huis gevind.

The Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Brig Nicky Mills welcomed the 28 year prison sentence handed down to Rodian Williams after being found guilty of the brutal and gruesome murder of 19 year old Shakira Jonkers on         08 December 2019 in Gamakor in Keimoes.

On 08 December 2019 at 19:00 the  police received information that the victim was last seen in the company of the accused.

Information led the police to the discovery of the decapitated body of the victim in a pit toilet near his home in Gamakor.

Later the evening at 19h00 information was received that he allegedly murdered the victim and dumped the body in the outside pittoilet of his home at Gamakor, Keimoes.

Further investigation revealed that the victim’s head was decapitated and put in a black plastic bag. Her arms  and legs were severed and  only the torso and  the body parts were then thrown in the pit toilet and covered with paper.

The suspect, Rodian Williams, was arrested the same night.

 The accused was found guilty on 16 October 2020 in the Upington High court and sentenced to 28 years in prison. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm. The investigating officer, D/W/Off William Mouers was commended by the Station Commander, Lt Col Barney Visagie for a sterling and meticulous investigation of the gruesome murder.
