CARNARVON – Die Carnarvon-streekshof het gister 23 Julie 2020 drie mans van die verkragting van ’n vrou en die ernstige aanranding van haar man skuldig bevind.
Die drie verdagtes het die paartjie se huis binnegedring en op geld en drank aangedring. Toe hul nie kry wat hulle wou hê nie, het hulle die man aangerand en een het die vrou verkrag.

On 23 July 2020, the Carnarvon Regional Court found three males guilty of raping a woman and assaulting her husband with sharp objects.
The incident occurred on 16 July 2017 in Vosburg. The accused entered the couple’s shanty demanding money and liquor. When they could not get what they demanded, the suspects started assaulting the husband and one of them raped the wife. All three fled the scene and were unknown at the time of the incident.
On 25 July 2017, the suspects were arrested after a thorough investigation conducted by Sergeant Floris Fritz. Bail was successfully opposed and the accused has since been in custody. They were found guilty and sentenced as follows;
First accused, Mervyn Jane aged 27 years got 15 years imprisonment.
Second accused, Andries George aged 31 years old got six years imprisonment for assault GBH.
Third accused, Christow De Wee aged 28 years old was sentenced to six year imprisonment. The District Commander of Pixley Ka Seme, Brigadier Nomana Adonis commended Sergeant Floris Fritz for his persistance and dedication that ensured that justice prevails.
