WARRENTON – Twee besigheidsmanne is gister op Warrenton vir die verkoop van sigarette in hegtenis geneem. Dit is ’n oortreding van die wet op rampbestuur. Sigarette tot die waarde van R14 700.00 is gekonfiskeer.

Members of the Operational Response Team arrested two businessmen in Warrenton today for contravening Regulation 45 of the Disaster Management Act by selling cigarettes.
Members of the ORS led by Lt Col Seleke and Captain Bok under the overall command of Col Sontsi were conducting patrols in Warrenton when they received information about selling of cigarettes. Two shops were immediately followed up.
At one shop cigarettes selling transaction was witnessed and shop owner was arrested. Various brands of cigarettes estimated at R10 000,00 were confiscated.
At another shop the owner was arrested and cigarettes estimated at R4700 were confiscated.
The Provincial Head of Operational Response Team, Brigadier Monica Sebili applauded the vigilance displayed by the members in ensuring that the Disaster Management Act regulations are adhered to.
