KIMBERLEY – ’n Man (25) is op 6 Junie 2020 in hegtenis geneem nadat hy glo alkohol op ’n Saterdag verkoop het. Volgens die regulasies van vlak drie van inperking mag daar nie op Vrydae, Saterdae en Sondae drank verkoop word nie.
Drank tot die waarde van R100 000.00 en kontant van R21 699.00 is tydens die voorval gekonfiskeer.

Efforts to enforce the Regulations of the Disaster Management Act , 2020 continued unabated yesterday, 06 June 2020 when members of group D performing COVID 19 crime prevention duties pounced on tavern owner allegedly selling liquor in Club 2000 in Galeshewe in Kimberley.
While patrolling the area at 16:45 , the members noticed alcohol being sold at a local tavern in the area. Investigations led the members to the discovery of various liquor valued at R100 000-00 and cash amounting to R21 669-00 believed to be the proceeds of the sale of liquor. The liquor as well as the cash was confiscated.
The 25 year old manager of the tavern was arrested and charged with Contravention of Regulation 44(5) of the Disaster Management Act Regulations selling liquor which is prohibited on Fridays, Saturdays, Sunday’s and holidays. Brigadiers Nicky Mills and Bossie Jacobs warned the public that the police would continue relentlessly to enforce the regulations during alert level 3 of the lockdown period. We will continue to stamp down the authority of the state.
