NOORD-KAAP – ’n Man (39) het in die Garies-landdroshof verskyn in verband met die besit van bedreigde spesies. Bedreigde plantspesies ter waarde van R150 000.00 is in sy besit gevind.

NC: Man appear for endangered species
A 39 year old man appeared before the Garies Magistrates Court in connection with possession of endangered species.
Police received information about the succulent plants which was immediately operationalised by members of the Springbok Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit (STESU).
The suspect’s premise in Garies was searched and was found in possession of the endangered plants ; that is conophytum pageae, larryleachia as well as pelargonium chrismifolium. The plants are valued at R150 000.
The case against Jaco Willemse(39) of Leliefontein was postponed to 04 June 2020. The suspect was released on warning.
Police investigation continues.
