NC:FIVE MEN ARRESTED BY SEVERN SAPS MEMBERS FOR ILLEGAL HUNTING
On Saturday, 28 March 2020 at about 23:00 five men between 20 and 42 years were arrested by Severn saps members for illegal hunting.
W/O Precious Seikaneng, Sgt Olebogeng Sebati, Sgt Monnapula Seme, Constables Moorosi Pico and Onkarabetse Gasekatswe who were busy with patrol duty responded quickly to a complaint of a suspeciou vehicle which was driving fast on Severn main road.
The five members stopped a white Toyota bakkie and searched it. While searching the bakkie they found one Gemsbok, one Kudu and one Wildebees all to the value of R30 000-00 been shot. They further found one rifle and nine ammunition. Five suspects were arrested after failing to give satisfactory explanation to the officials. A Toyota bakkie was also confiscated.
Major General Johan Bean the cluster Commander of JTG commended Severn saps members for their commitment and dedication.
The five suspects will appear before the Kuruman Magistrate court on Monday, 30 March. End
