Care 4 Kings rugby memorabilia auction – Jean de Villiers 2004 Tri-Nations jersey

BOK 735 – Jean de Villiers – donated his 2004 Tri-Nations jersey for a good cause!

What makes this original jersey more unique is that the Springboks upset world rugby by trashing the All Blacks in a extremely exciting match at Ellis Park with 40-26.

The victory was South Africa’s first against the All Blacks in nine games and could be a watershed for Jake White’s Springboks.

On the day Jean played wing while the outside centre scored a hatrick of tries and who will forget him and Marius Joubert counting his third try.

Jean on the day scored one of five tries by the Springboks.   This is one of only 2 original jerseys signed by Jean.

South Africa: Tries: Centre Marius Joubert (3), right wing Breyton Paulse, left wing Jean de Villiers. Conversions: Montgomery (3). Penalties: Montgomery (3).

New Zealand: Tries: Fullback Mils Muliaina, left wing Joe Rokocoko. Conversions: Flyhalf Andrew Mehrtens (2). Penalties: Mehrtens (4)

Jean stats:       BOK 735         TEST 109        WIN 71 CAPTAIN 36
